STUDY OF PARKING LAYOUT AND CIRCULATION PLAN FOR THE PROPOSED MULTI LEVEL CAR PARK AT CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Client : Larsen & Toubro (ECC Division)

Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (MIAL) is upgrading the infrastructure facilities at Chhatrapathi Shivaji International Airport(CSIA), Mumbai to internatoinal levels. Both the domestic and International Airport is expected to operate from terminal T2 at Sahar from 2012.
The existing buildings and structures will be demolished and new terminal buildings will be constructed with an assoicated Multi Level Car Parking Area at (MLCP) Sahar.

  • Study the adequacy of entry and exit options planned in the MLCP area at all levels and the resulting queuing length

  • To study the adequacy of parking provision for the pick up kerb and drop off area.

  • To study the overall vertical/ horizontal movement on individual floor levels of MLCP in terms of vehicular circulation and to suggest appropriate measures

  • Traffic spillage on elevated and at grade roads in the peak traffic situations

 

PREPARATION OF MASTER PLAN / PERSPECTIVE PLAN FOR TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM OF NAGPUR CITY FOR THE YEAR 2031

Client : Nagpur Municipal Corporation

Nagpur is second capital of Maharashtra State. Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is spread over an area of 217.65 Sq. km. Population of the city is 20.5 lakhs with an average density of 95 persons per hectare. Present population is estimated to be around 23 lakhs and projected population is 46 lakhs by 2031.

Scope of work:

  • Review of earlier Development Plan and Land use Map.
  • Forecast of population and employment.
  • Development of travel demand model using CUBE/TRIPS software with inputs from secondary data, traffic surveys, household surveys and network inventory.
  • Preparation of transportation improvement proposals in the short, medium and long term up to 2031.
  • Block cost estimates.
  • Economic and financial viability analysis.

 

RIDERSHIP ESTIMATION FOR HYDERABAD METRO, INDIA

Client : Reliance Energy ADA Group

Hyderabad is a major urban agglomeration in India. Population of the city is 55.33 lakhs(2001). The share of Public Transport is around 45%. The share of personalised modes i.e. two wheelers and cars constitutes around 30% and 10% respectively. The total registered vehicle in 2003 is Rs.15.6 lakhs.
Government of Andhra Pradesh has shortlisted Reliance Energy ADA Group to submit technical and Financial Proposal for Development, Operation and Maintenance of Hyderabad Mass Rapid Transit on Build-Operate-Transfer basis for following three corridors of 71 km, with 65 stations for which L&T Ramboll has estimated ridership.

  1. Miyapur to L.B. Nagar.
  2. Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to Falaknuma.
  3. Nagole – Shilparamam.

For estimation of Travel demand CUBE/TRIPS Software was used.

Scope of work:

  • Secondary Data Collection.
  • Primary Traffic Surveys & Analysis.
  • Stated Preference Surveys (1500 samples).
  • Preparation of transportation network map
  • Compilation of public transport service characteristic data
  • Ridership Forecast for Future Years.

TRAFFIC VALIDATION STUDY FOR BOT PROJECTS

Client : L&T-ECC Division / GMR / Soma / BSCPL / RELIANCE

NHAI is inviting tender for widening / upgrading National Highways from pre-qualified bidders/developers all over India on BOT basis. To a potential developer, pre-tender traffic validation is necessary to assess the viability of the project corridor. L&T Ramboll Consulting Engineers Ltd. acts as a technical advisor for bidders to get a assessment of traffic potential (Tollable traffic, Toll Revenue). The typical scope of work comprises of:

  • Comprehensive road network inventory.
  • Conducting Primary Traffic Surveys (Classified Volume Count, O-D surveys,etc).

MULTI-MODAL INTERNATIONAL HUB AIRPORT AT NAGPUR, MAHARASHTRA

Client : Maharastra State Road Development Corporation Limited

Consortium led by L&T-RAMBØLL were appointed as Consultants for carrying out Techno-Economic Feasibility Study of Multi-Modal International Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN), Maharashtra. Scope of work included field studies, airport planning, urban planning, Master Plan, rail transport and multi-modal studies, facilities planning, inland container terminal, business opportunity studies, BOT packaging, etc.

TAJ ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ZONE AND TAJ INTERNATIONAL AVIATION HUB, GREATER NOIDA, UTTAR PRADESH

Client : Government of Uttar Pradesh

Consultancy services for undertaking Techno-Economic Feasibility Study and  Project Report preparation for the proposed Taj Economic Development Zone and Taj International Aviation Hub (TEDZ & TIAH) was awarded by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to L&T-RAMBØLL. TEDZ is proposed close to the Taj Expressway connecting Delhi and Agra and includes the Taj International Hub Airport Complex, economic activities area, a multi-modal transportation centre and a residential area called Taj City.

DENSIFICATION STUDY FOR MRTS CORRIDOR IN CHENNAI, TAMIL NADU

Client : Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority

The study involved providing Engineering Consultancy Services to assess the influence area of MRTS alignment and develop special DCR's and its impact on the ridership levels on MRTS facilities, planning of support transport facilities and assessment of broad environmental impacts.
