DETAILED DESIGN  OF MAJOR BRIDGES IN VILLUPURAM – DINDUGAL DOUBLING PROJECT OF SOUTHERN RAILWAY.

Scope:
Consultancy services for two Major bridges, with following tasks.

  • Design basis note.
  • Detailed design and drawings for sub & super structure.
  • Proof checking by external experts

Features:
The super structure for box as well as U type trough are designed by keeping the depth of construction as minimum as possible, to achieve overall economy. The design is done as per IRS codes.

 

MUMBAI MONORAIL PROJECT

Client : Larsen Toubro Scomi Bhd. Consortium

Project Description:
The Mumbai Monorail is currently under construction for Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). Construction started in January 2009. The first part from Wadala to Chembur (9 km) is to open by the end of 2010, with the remaining 11 km from Gadge Maharaj Chowk to Wadala to follow in 2011. A 108-meter test run was successfully conducted on January 26, 2010.
The superstructure typically consists of three, four or five span continuous precast, concrete girders post-tensioned in two stages. Two such girders rest over a single pier which in turn is supported on pile foundations.

Scope of the work

  • Redesign of pile, pile cap and sub-structure at locations where utilities are encountered
  • Design of sub-structure for obligatory spans
  • Design of concourse slab of station buildings
  • Design of miscellaneous structures like staircases, guest house etc.
  • Proof checking of two typical frames including superstructure and substructure.

STATION BUILDING FOR BMRCL, BANGALORE

Client : Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited

L&T-RAMBØLL won an assignment to do the full comprehensive consultancy services for 5 elevated railway station along the Bangalore metro line. The scope of work involves detailed planning of layout including passenger handling, platform and concourse design, passenger amenities and full M&E services. Aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound solution from various alternatives proposed will be selected for final design. It includes preparation of design basis, Topographic and Soil investigations, Preparation of Tender drawings, BOQ's, Detailed estimates and specifications, Good for construction drawings supported with detailed design and calculations and Design support during construction.

The Station Design includes Design of Two Level Integral Bridge of 15m Span for Rail Level and Concourse within the Station Buildings  & Simply Support Transition Span of Maximum 22m on either side of the Station Building
