DEVELOPMENT OF L&T KATTUPALLI SHIPYARD CUM PORT AT KATTUPALLI, TAMIL NADU

Client: L&T - ECC Division

L&T-RAMBØLL was awarded the job by L&T Shipbuilding Limited, Chennai.(Joint venture of L&T and TIDCO) to prepare a Detailed Project Report(DPR) for the development of Shipyard cum Port complex. Objective of the study is to enable optimal development of required facilities for Shipyard cum Port and EIA Studies and obtaining MOEF approval for the project.

Scope of Services provided:

To assist client in identification of agencies for field survey and investigations with technical specifications
To prepare DPR which includes review of traffic study, vessel size analysis, facility requirements and sizing, conceptual layout of relocated CPCL intake and outfall, Master plan, Preliminary engineering, Cost estimate, Implementation schedule, Tariff, Revenue and Financial viability analysis
Carryout complete Mathematical model study

DPR FOR DEVELOPMENT OF KAVERI PORT, NAGAPATNAM

Client: PEL Power Ltd., Hyderabad

Brief Scope of Work:

Review of earlier Feasibility Reports
Identification of data gap, assist Client in taking up field investigations & surveys, prepare technical specifications, assist Client in fixing up the survey agency, conduct periodic supervision, collate results and prepare site investigation report.
Review of traffic forecast by the Client
Carryout Vessel size analysis and arrive at design vessel size
Assess Facility requirements and coal handling equipment
Arrive at ancillary facilities like power, water supply, fire fighting, navigational aids, ports crafts and operational buildings
Carryout Mathematical model studies
Prepare Master Plan and the Land-use plan keeping in view the client's vision
Prepare Block Cost Estimate and Project Implementation Schedule

DPR FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PORT AT UDANGUDI

Client: Udangudi Power Corporation Ltd.

Brief Scope of Work:

Review of earlier Feasibility reports, Surveys and Investigation reports available with client
Carry out Preliminary vessel size analysis and traffic analysis
Conduct Mathematical Model Studies
Assess facility requirements and coal handling equipment, conveyor system and their design capabilites
Study alternate options including lighterage operations
Preliminary engineering design for pipe conveyor system, shore unloader, jetty and approach, operation and maintenance

Study environmental aspects through review of existing reports and prepare emergency evacuation plan

Prepare cost estimate and project implementaion report

Prepare and Submit Draft Detailed Project Report for Client's review and approval

Prepare and Submit Final Detailed Project Report

NRW KAKINADA DETAILED DESIGN AT KAKINADA, ANDHRA PRADESH

Client : Kakinada Seaports Limited

Kakinada Seaports Limited proposed to develop berths as an extension of North Return Wall (NRW) of the existing quays.

These are multi-purpose berths for cargo handling as well as for rig / ship repairs.
The berthing structure supported on piles is approx 650m in length and a diaphragm wall quay, nearly 200m long, and perpendicular to it, provides additional berthing length for smaller vessels.

The backup area development requires hydraulic fill using dredged sand from the maintenance dredging carried out for the port, and band drains as soil-improvement, in view of the underlying soft clay layer. The roads, drainage and hardstands make up the remaining works.

L&T-RAMBØLL is the Owner’s Consultant for this development.

Scope of work includes, Tender design, BOQ, Tender document & Detailed design for all of the above described components. During the construction phase, which is ongoing, L&T-RAMBØLL provides Quality Assurance and Contract management.
