DESIGN OF CONNECTING TAXIWAY, APRON, SLAB ON GRADE AND SERVICE ROADS FOR FLEET HANGAR FACILITIES AT RIYADH AND JEDDAH AIRPORTS

Client : Larsen & Toubro Limited, Global Engineering Services (GES) for M/s Saudi Oger of Saudi Arabia.

M/s Saudi Oger is responsible for construction of Government Fleet Light Maintenance Hangar Facilities for airports at Riyadh and Jeddah. The design contract was awarded to Global Engineering Services of L&T who in turn engaged L&T-RAMBØLL for the detailed design and production of construction drawings for civil works for connecting taxiways, parking apron, slab on grade inside the hangar and service roads. The facilities have been designed to accommodate design aircraft such as Boeing 737-700 (BBJ), Boeing 747-400 and Gulfstream G300. The scope of work included geometric and pavement designs and production of construction drawings such as pavement types plans, pavement set out plans, plans and profiles, grading drawings, cross-section drawings, details of joints, bar bending schedules etc..

Techno-Economic Feasibility Study of the Proposed Multi-Modal International Passenger AND Cargo Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN), MAHARASHTRA

Client : Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd.

L&T-RAMBØLL along with CRISIL Advisory Services led the consortium of consultants for carrying out Techno- Economic Feasibility Study of the proposed Multi-Modal International Passenger and Cargo Hub Airport (MIHAN) at Nagpur, Maharashtra. The scope of work included Field Surveys including cargo, passenger and courier traffic; Aviation related business opportunities; Baseline Data Collection; Passenger / Cargo, Domestic and International Traffic Forecast; Assessment of Facilities required; Preparation of Master Plan; Preliminary designs of runways, taxiways, aprons and internal roads; Effective OM&M System; Viability Analysis, Financing, Development, Marketing Strategy, Organisational Structure; Social and Environmental Impact Assessment; Rail Transport Studies, Multi-Modal Studies, Inland Container Terminals, Concept Plans and Architecture, Urban Planning, Assessment of facilities required, Traffic and Policy Review, Master Plan, Air Side Traffic Planning, Airside / Landside Design, Architecture, Organisation Structure; Operation and Management Assessment of Airport, Assessment of Aeronautical and Non-Aeronautical Revenues; Rail Transport Studies, Multi-Modal Studies, Inland Container Terminals; Preparation of Reports.


Techno-Economic Feasibility Study AND Project Report for the Proposed Taj Economic Development Zone and Taj International Aviation Hub (TEDZ & TIAH), Uttar Pradesh

Client: Government of Uttar Pradesh

L&T-RAMBØLL led the consortium of consultants for carrying out Techno-Economic Feasibility Study for the proposed Taj Economic Development Zone and Taj International Aviation Hub (TEDZ & TIAH). The TEDZ is located close to proposed Taj Expressway connecting Delhi and Agra and includes the Taj International Hub Airport Complex, economic activities area, a multi-modal transportation centre and a residential area called Taj City.


Bangalore International Airport, KARNATAKA

The proposed Bangalore International Airport will be a green-field privately owned airport located about 40 km north of Bangalore City. L&T-RAMBØLL is responsible for detail engineering designs of runways, taxiways, aprons, isolation bay, airside and land-side road networks, parking areas, surface drainage systems, etc. L&T-RAMBØLL successfully completed the tender designs and detailed designs.


DETAIL ENGINEERING DESIGN OF HYDERABAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - AIRSIDE AND LANDSIDE FACILITIES

Client: Larsen & Toubro Limited

The project jointly promoted by GMR group and Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad with public participation from Airports Authority of India. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has a vision to have an ultimate capacity of 40 million passengers per annum with the facility to handle the new large aircraft including new airbus A-380 from the opening date of the project. The present phase of the development envisages handling 5 million passengers per annum. L&T-RAMBOLL was responsible for detailed design of runway (4260m x 60m) to handle code F aircraft including airbus A380, full-length parallel taxiway (45m wide) designed as emergency runway for code E aircraft, Rapid exit taxiways and other connecting taxiways, Passenger terminal building apron, Cargo apron, Maintenance Apron and Isolation Bay, Markings and signage, Major and minor service roads for connecting the apron and service areas, 8 km long four-lane main access road with four rotary intersections, other landside connecting roads, Two tier elevated forecourt structures for providing approaches to passenger terminal building. The total road length designed for the project is about 30 km.

Small Airports in Andhra Pradesh

Client: Transport, Roads & Buildings (TR&B) Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh

L&T-RAMBØLL carried out Techno-Economic Feasibility Study for improvement of 22 existing small airports / airstrips in Andhra Pradesh. Scope of work includes assessment of existing airport / airstrip infrastructure in the state, traffic forecast, viability study for operation of airports / airstrips as independent entities, design of legal / regulatory framework for development of the airports / airstrips, design of private sector participation policy and feasibility of starting a regional airline in the state.
