Government of Andhra Pradesh has proposed to set up a “Pharma City” on
2,120 acres of land near Visakhapatnam city to promote the pharmaceutical industry in the state. The Pharma City is proposed to have world-class integrated infrastructure with dedicated power and water supply, state-of-the-art Common Effluent Treatment Plant
(CETP), Marine Outfall into the Bay of Bengal, etc. The main objective of the assignment is to successfully conclude the procurement of a Strategic Partner to implement the project on a commercial format and assist the
Client in signing of agreements and start-up of project implementation leading to financial closure. With this background, APIIC has appointed L&T-RAMBØLL, as Consultants for carrying out the Feasibility Study and Procurement of Developer. The

PREPARATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE
DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND PPP STRATEGY FOR VISAKHAPATNAM - KAKINADA COASTAL
GROWTH CORRIDOR PROJECT, ANDHRA PRADESH

As the first stage
of its ambitious plan to develop the entire coastal corridor
of Andhra Pradesh, the State Government proposed to develop
over 7600 sq.km of area between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada (V
K corridor). The nodal agency - Infrastructure Corporation of
AP Ltd. (INCAP) is supported by the International Financial
Corporation (IFC) for the project related studies. IFC engaged
L&T-RAMBØLL to prepare the "Infrastructure Development
Plan and PPP Strategy" for the corridor. The study includes
Delineation of the Corridor, Economic Assessment, Infrastructure
Assessment, Review of Institutional Framework, Preparation of
Infrastructure Development Strategy and Action Plan including
the Conceptual Regional Master Plan, Preliminary Environmental
Assessment and Stakeholder Consultations.
The vision for the Growth Corridor is to create strong economic
base with globally competitive environment and state-of-the-art
infrastructure to activate local commerce, enhance investments
and attain sustainable development.

TECHNO-ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY
STUDY FOR MULTI PRODUCT SEZ AT AMRAVATI, MAHARASHTRA

L&T-RAMBØLL has
carried out the Techno-Economic Feasibility Study for the proposed 2500
acres Multi Product SEZ at Amravati. The tasks carried out include Site
suitability analysis, Market study and demand assessment, Assessment of
existing infrastructure (both offsite and onsite), Master planning, Preliminary
engineering and design of all infrastructure components, Identification
of external linkages to the SEZ (direct road connectivity, direct rail
corridor, upgradation of Belora airstrip), Project cost estimates, Project
structuring, Financial analysis, Estimation of investment and employment
potential and Framing marketing strategy for developing the SEZ. On the
basis of LTR Report, a private developer has already been identified for
this project by the Client.
